Terms of use

These terms describe use of logturtle.com, including its games, account features, trip tools, and volunteer tools. LogTurtle is operated from Washington, D.C., primarily for users in the United States. “LogTurtle,” “we,” and “us” refer to the person operating the site under the LogTurtle name.

Using LogTurtle

Use the site lawfully and respect other people’s information and rights. LogTurtle is intended for a general audience and is not intended for children under 13. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, use account features only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian who can agree to these terms.

Keep account credentials secure and use only your own account or access expressly authorized for you. Invitations, module access, program roles, and any features labeled Premium depend on permissions assigned to your account. An account does not automatically grant every feature.

Responsible use

Do not attempt to bypass access restrictions, access another person’s private records without permission, misuse invitation codes, disrupt the site, distribute malicious code, or post unlawful, threatening, infringing, or deliberately misleading content. Do not falsify attendance, confirmations, or other participation records, or impersonate someone else.

Organizers and program staff must use their access only for authorized coordination and administration, and handle participant information responsibly. Upload or enter information about others only when you have an appropriate basis to do so.

Your information and contributions

You retain any rights you have in information and content you submit. You give the site operator permission to store, process, display to authorized users, and make technical copies of that content as needed to provide and maintain the features you use. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content.

Saved trip responses, including drafts, can be visible to organizers. Program participation records can be visible to staff with the relevant roles. The privacy notice explains data handling and browser storage. Review what you enter and what you choose to export or share.

Planning and participation

Trip suggestions, descriptions, ratings, opening hours, weather, route information, and allergy notes may become outdated or contain errors. Verify important details directly with the relevant venue, weather authority, organization, or other source before relying on them. Allergy information is not a guarantee that food or a venue is safe for you.

A private volunteer plan or a logbook entry does not reserve a place, establish attendance, or create an independently confirmed service record. Use the program’s booking and confirmation controls and follow the organization’s instructions. Organizations set their own eligibility, attendance, cancellation, and safety requirements. Confirm service-hour documentation requirements with the organization or institution that will accept them.

Game questions and calculations are for entertainment and learning. Stated assumptions and approximations matter. Browser-stored guesses and points may be lost when site data is cleared or storage is unavailable. Game points are for fun and have no cash value or prizes. Current games provide no global rankings or cross-device game history.

Site content and outside services

You may use the site for its intended purposes and use its provided copying, sharing, and export features. Other uses of protected content require permission unless allowed by law or the applicable license. See the copyright and trademark notices. Third-party material remains subject to its own rights and license terms.

Links to outside services are provided for convenience or attribution. Those services set their own terms and privacy practices. A link or mention does not by itself imply endorsement or affiliation.

Availability, changes, and account restrictions

Features may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. Keep copies of records you need. Access may be restricted or suspended to address misuse, protect the site or its users, or meet legal obligations. Where practical and appropriate, the operator will explain a restriction and provide a way to raise a concern. Contact us to ask about closing your account and handling its records.

Accuracy and responsibility

The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the operator does not promise uninterrupted service, error-free information, or suitability for a particular purpose. You remain responsible for the decisions you make using the site.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights, remedies, warranties, or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded. These terms do not require arbitration or waive class-action rights.

Changes and contact

Revised terms will be posted here with an updated effective date. Material changes may also be brought to your attention through the site or another appropriate channel. Changes do not retroactively remove rights that have already arisen.
